HAPPY NEW YEAR MY BELOVED TEAMMATES!!

Let us just reflect on ourselves regarding 2007!!

Firstly, during March, retarded Damien stepped down, and hottie Daniel took over as the new captain!hahahaha! But he stayed on in the team and assist Daniel in whatever way he could, and Daniel seriously couldn't ask for more from him! Thanks Damien!

Then come April, we had Club Crawl which was a blast!!!Our sexy and hot seniors don on their jerseys and windbreaker, and went around looking for our FUTURE. we got about 200++ names which was a usual figure that we get every year for our registration!!!(So year 1s, you guys should know what to expect this coming Club Crawl 08!!)hahahah.

But during our first training, about 80+ juniors turned up.Although it's way lesser than the initial 200+ people who registered, it wasn't easy to handle that 80+ with around 10 seniors only!!!But the response for the orientation was great, which means good job seniors!!

Moving on, as time passed, the team of juniors became smaller and smaller, only the ones with the strongest mentally and the ones who knows clearly what they wanna achieve in the sport stayed on.

Then came our first competition as a team together!!!Pol-ite kayaking 07!Many were so nervous that they even want to go for the race when it was their turn!hahaha. But I have to say that all of the nyp rowers are a brave group of people and they went all out to kick the ass out of their rowers!!

And there!it makes the end of 2007 for Nyp Kayaking Team!!!

To the year 1s,it wasn't easy to endure all these tough training days which go as high as 6 days a week. But look back guys! You made it through the whole year!I believe it will also be easy to make it through the remaing 2 years!

Year 2s and 3s, you guys assisted me in so many areas for the team which I'm so grateful for!And continue passing on our skills on rowing to the next batch and hope they train hard and surpass our expectations!Thank you guys!!!

And last of all, we'll continue to train hard together as a team and move on to 2008 together!!We'll go through happy times and tough times together as a team! We'll kick ass together AS A TEAM!!!

Who's with me?x)

in the recent few events that took place over a short period of time, i'd first like everyone to take a minute and remember the seniors whose demise has struck the world dumbfounded. minute's gone, and so our lives would move on.

on a happier note, NYP stormed the RP Invitationals POL-ITE Race on the 24th of November, saturday. Everyone was feeling the jitters early that morning, with thoughts of the finishing sprint, the starting line, and for most juniors if was their virgin race. but we went, and we conquered. a few juniors have indeed done us all proud, and also not forgetting our seniors who earned their way into the top few.

we've all came such a long way, together, training and pushing each other, and i'm not saying we're going to stop here. we'll continue training hard, training strong, and training smart.

listed herein is a list of the winners for the 2007 POL-ITE Games:

Women T1
Ng Liling 2nd
Rainie The Li Jun 3rd

Women T2
Evangeline Liew Jia Min / Melissa Khah Jia Yan 1st
Chia Huey Yen / Joanna Liew shik Ee 2nd

Women K1
Foo Jing Ting 2nd
Siak Aising 3rd

Women K2
Siak Aising / Foo Jing Ting 2nd

Men T1
Lim Yi Rui 2nd

Men T2
Ng Jun Wei / Nathan Zhou Zhen Hao 2nd
Neo En Kai / Lim Guo Liang 2nd

Men K1
Damien Yau Kai Fatt 3rd

Men K2
Daniel Ang Jin Ming / Joel Chan Kiat Meng 2nd

also, in this race, Republic Polytechnic has introduced the overall champions for both Men Races and Women Races. With the team that obtains the most medals and seizes most places in the top 3 for each race, they will draw the overall championship for the number of medals they win.

in account of the above-mentioned medals that we've won, i am proud to say this:

Overall Postion Women Men
Champions
NYP SP
1st Runner-up RP NYP
2nd Runner-up RP

we have tamed the seas! or at least, Seletar Reservoir, for now.

hey people!!!I believe most of you have been waiting eagerly for this to be announce. And that is,we'll resume our sea training, but next week is the common test week, therefore we'll still have some optional sea training. But after the common test we'll resume training.

In Summary:

Saturday(8/12) - Complusory

Monday(10/12) - Optional

Wednesday(12/12) - Optional

Saturday(15/12) - Complusory

And after that we'll have our 2 weeks break. We'll have to do some high intensity training and prepare ourselves for the National Canoe Marathon which is on January. So roughly we have less than 2 months to train for it.But I believe that you guys are capable of training well and doing well for it.But the first thing we should do is forget bout the glory of Pol-ite.It's the past now and it's back to zero medals for all of us.So lets move on, train hard again for 2 months and go to the competition with full of confidence and drive in you.Can we do it Nyp Kayaking Team?

Saturday, December 01, 2007

Just wanna wish a last good luck to all rowers taking part in Round Ubin kayak Marathon! Please take good care of yourself while rowing.Safety comes first.

And also all the best for those taking part in Standard Chartererd Marathon!!

Complete the distance no matter how tired it gets. When your body fails you, it's all up to how mentally strong are you. As rowers, every single one of you should develop that strong mental in you. During a marathon it's all about the whole process, not the results. Learn new things while going through it.

All the way guys and girls!!

We are a team of dedicated canoeist,
who not only train - we train to win.
