After months of hardcore training, Singapore Canoe Marathon came to an end in just a couple of hours!!Can you guys believe it! We've all endured through the choppy water, long distance, blistering weather and also the tough competition! And many of us won a medal for ourselves!Well done team!!
Although not all of us won something, I believe that it's the experience that matters. When do you ever get to compete in a canoe marathon with all the institutions in Singapore with such a amazing team? I bet it's one in a life time experience. Most importantly, learn from this experience, remember which area you can improve on, so that you can do even better for the next competition.
Last of all, to those who won something for themselves, don't get too carried away alright. Think in a way that your competitors were not good enough therefore letting you guys win a medal. So move on, look out for tougher competition in this sport, challenge yourself by facing stronger rowers. In this way then we'll be able to improve and become even better rowers in the near future. There's always room for improvement.Don't ever think that you're too good to train hard.
To the year 1s, many of you will be moving on to K boats already, which definitely has much tougher competitors around, so all of you should be putting even more hard work into getting your balancing and strokes right. The seniors are always more than willing to help you guys.To the year 2s and 3s, the year 1s are going to kick our asses soon, and we definitely have to prevent that from happening!!
Last of all, I just wanna say I'm really very very very proud to lead this team. The team did very well and we definitely strike fear in other polytechnics team! Lets keep up that momentum and spirit in the team, and continue to train even harder for the rest of the competitions!!Cause I believe that you each and everyone of you is capable of doing well!
Nyp kayaking!!!!
